I have been using it with codrv for a long time without any problems, but I haven't yet installed pk 0.2.4, so I don't know if there have been any changes in that. The XBSD8514-0.1 server does not include codrv support, so it is no surprise that it won't work with codrv. >I reverted to pccons (MAKEDEV pc0, edit /etc/ttys to change console to vga) >and then I had a problem root logins on the console. You mean that *XBSD8514-0.1* is running fine with pccons and not with codrv. The only part of XFree86 that depends on the console driver is the server (and kbd_mode). I only emphasise this to make it clear that you can't assume the claimed functionality of XFree86-1.3 applies to other servers you may use, and this leads to confusion in the bug reports. Can some of those having problems with the XFree86-1.3 servers XF86_SVGA and XF86_Mono either post or send me the server's startup messages so I can see if the server is correctly identifying the console driver type?
