Oh, the message in isa.c is a new feature of pk-0.2.4, but the stray ints
were there long before. In the comment on this message in isa.c Rodney
remarked that this could be due to bad hardware (glitches of interrupts
not captured by the interrupt controller). I found one more effect during
development of the mcd driver. When I wire the mcd controller for interrupt
operation in mcdprobe, i.e. in an early kernel phase, I get these spurious
interrupts. If I do this initialization later (in pcattach), there are
none of them. I suspect, that during probe the 8259 (or 82C206) is not
yet correctly initialized for interrupt operation, so these stray interrupts
can come through. Perhaps someone can analyze this in more detail. Since
these strayintr 7's are happening only during an early phase of the bootup,
I don't believe that this is a bad board (I had backed out the counter
which prevents logging more than 5 events). If these strayintrs remain in
normal operation, this could be a board with bad timing. During bootup
I suspect more a bad designed driver.
