I managed to get things worked out here on my own. My problem was that I didn't pay any attention to previous posts about this problem. Solution: Get the new boot block files for the /usr/mdec directory. (I didn't realize that I needed those files. ) Although I did still have a problem with disklabel. Originally I was using 'disklabel -w wd1 <type>' format but that doesn't work. I had to use 'disklabel -w -r wd1 <type>'. Go figure. So the moral of this story is to keep up with recent News! My apologies go out to the bandwidth conservationists. -Greg gspiegel@bsa3.kent.edu gspiegel@mcs.kent.edu greg@dell.kent.edu
