Lines: 38 Patchkit 0.2.4. has introduced the possibility to use multiport serial boards. Very nice to have it, especially since my AST/4 is sitting idle on my EISA bus for months now ;-) Only: how do you configure an AST/4 in the kernel? What I have in the config file is: sio0 -> COM1 sio1 -> COM2 (both are recognized and work just fine) sio2 @ 0x1a0 irq 2 flags 0x0501 sio3 @ 0x1a8 irq 2 flags 0x0501 sio4 @ 0x1b0 irq 2 flags 0x0501 sio5 @ 0x1b8 irq 2 flags 0x0501 Hmm, might be that I had to take irq 9 to get config happy, but essentially the above is what I used. A kernel built with the above doesnot recognize the AST card. Am I missing something? Wilko << A somewhat related thought: wouldn't it be nice to have a sort of << New Features file in each patchkit that lists MAJOR enhancements to << the system? Say, somebody gets RockRidge cdroms working, it would then << be nice to know, and not just by digging around in all the seperate << patch descriptions under /patch/installed. << W. -- | / o / / _ Wilko Bulte mail: wilko@idca.tds.philips.nl |/|/ / / /( (_) |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| Equipment Enterprise voice: +3155-432062 fax: +3155-432103 DTN: 829 2062 PO Box 245 - 7300 AE Apeldoorn - The Netherlands
