I'm curious how far this goes. Are the differences that great, or are they in the noise level? If I had a library that was build on 386bsd, will it work on bsdi? Would it be possible to write a program to convert it to working on bsdi easily? The library doesn't use syscall() and only calls POSIXish things plus Xlib calls. If I had a program that was build on 386bsd, will it work on bsdi? Would it be possible to write a program to convert it to working on bsdi easily? What are the issues that prevent 386bsd binaries working on bsdi? Does NetBSD affect the answers to the above questions. When are shared libraries due out for both systems?
