Appropriate action is being taken. He has agreed to write a letter of apology to those newsgroups posted to. We halted our news server and attempted to cancel the article as soon as we were able to locate the message ID. The legal issues and disciplinary actions concerning this incident are being reviewed. Federal privacy laws governing the disimenation of student information prevent us from releasing further information. I apologize for my earlier posting it was a result of some extremely long hours on my part and attempt to receive some understanding and possibly demonstrate that we at UNM were aware of the problem.
