Message-ID: <1992Jul2.020910.1490@ntuix.ntu.ac.sg> Organization: Nanyang Technological University - Singapore Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1992 02:09:10 GMT Lines: 41 Since the man files for 386BSD are not complete there is a need for a book that describes all the commands so that they may be implemented later on by someone who needs it. Having a reference manual would direct in the right direction. POSIX would be ideal but I do not find it easily available in this region. In fact I tried to but was refered to the wrong people in a catch 22 situation. The book: tittle: Illustrated Unix System V competel command reference with tutorial (external cover), Illustrated Unix System V/BSD (internal page) author: Robert Felps my book's publisher: TECH PUBLICATIONS PTE LTD.,Singapore copyright publisher: WORDWARE PUBLISHING INC. USA, ISBN: 981-214-360-2 According to the Introduction this book talks about Unix Sys V rel 4 and BSD 4.3 Is SysV rel 4 the latest one? This is the only reference book that I have on BSD Unix apart from man pages. I have not used this book in detail yet but I like it because it combines BSD and SysV in one description. It even has a guide for BSD users with relevant page numbers. Is there any other BSD command reference apart from this that I can get easily? I heard about the BSD manual at UCB but do not know how to get one. Thanks for any help. -- Othman bin Ahmad, School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore 2263.
