You can find the following files at agate.berkeley.edu in the /pub/incoming
directory:
README.postgres-4.01-386BSD
postgres-4.01-386BSD.patch.gz
postgres-4.01-gcc2.patch.gz

I hope one day you can find it somewhere else.
