Yes, I know this is a FAQ, but I've spent literally dozens of hours in futile
attempt to get X386 to run on my standard 0.1BSD w/patched kernel. If you can
help or offer any ideas, PLEASE mail me, and you will have my undying
gratitude. If you're experiencing similar problems, let me know and we'll try
to put our heads together.

SETUP:
0.1 on 486DX2-66 w/ 8Mb mem. GENERICISA patched kernel from agate.
All X README's and config instructions have been followed to the letter,
including running the install script, setting paths, setting Xconfig, making
video info (per VideoMode.txt), etc.

SYMPTOMS:
Xinit redirection outputs look fine, screen goes blank, monitor clicks when
clocks are determined. Then the console hangs. Keyboard input appears not
to go anywhere (ie. ls -l /usr/bin doesn't make the disk spin), cntl-alt-
backspace does nothing. The system is still alive however, remote logins
still work. SVGA_X refuses to be killed even with kill -9. All attempts to
reset console fail (inc. kbd_mode.) I've played with many, many video modes
and clocks and syncs and.... Nothing prevents X from hanging, short of putting
illegal commands in Xconfig, which causes a quicker death. Xinit.out's don't
say anything's amiss.

Any and all help, advice, ideas, anything will be greatly appreciated.
