It is supposed to replace both the stock com driver and the
enhancements Chris made for it (bidir, multiport). It is a
high performance driver. When using it you should get rid
of all 'com silo overflow' messages.
In the new patchkit, patch 163 there is a file called PATCH in
which it is said how to configure it etc. etc.
