I am installing on a 200Mb DEC RZ24 disk attached to an Adaptec 1542B controller. DOS occupies the first 100Mb of that disk. My problem seems to be with the way the partition table is mapped. According to DOS FDISK and PFDISK, the drive contains 199 cylinders of 1Mb each, which is incorrect. It really contains 1384 cylinders. I've tried using both the correct numbers and the DOS numbers for offsets, but both result in the DOS partition being trashed. Installation mentions disabling some sort of automatic mapping feature of disk controllers? Does the 1542B have this? My manual makes no mention of it... ======================================================================= Brian O'Neill - Systems Manager, Computer Science (508) 934-3645 University of Massachusetts at Lowell Internet: oneill@cs.uml.edu Moderator, comp.binaries.ibm.pc
