Does INN provide _ALL_ the necessary transport for news as well as managing the incoming stuff, ageing, posting and reading? As I said I am very new at the news aspect of system admin., it is something I use on someone elses machine, I have very little idea of how it works. What mail package are you using, I have had a look a sendmail and read a few of the horror stories on the net from people who seem to have had mixed success getting it running. Quite a few of the posts I've seen recommend smail as the way to go. Also, could you point me at archive sites for the stuff you recommend, and if there are 386bsd or NetBSD patches, I would appreciate it if you let me know where they come from. Failing that, I have indirect net access via an ftp mail gateway. If you are running an ftpmail server on your machine, and are willing, I could grab the packages from there. >Hi Terry, > >I am running NetBSD-0.8 with INN-1.4.
