Ingres89 with Okamoto's patches is about the best bet we've come up with. 
It's clunky (the code is grim: I have nothing but admiration for the guy who
patched it) but it can be coaxed into operation.  We have had a working
version about 3 weeks.

No, I don't know where to get the patch; lots of nice folks mailed it to me. 
As they are probably mailing it to you...
