My IDE controller (DTC 2290) has a special version of "fdisk" to work with another IDE controller under DOS. This may not be possible with just any IDE controller. What's more, the DTC2290 lets you attach 4 IDE drives to it and 4 1.2-2.88 MB floppies, in addition to the possible 2 IDE drives on another controller. The DTC 2290 is a fairly inexpensive EISA controller with pretty good performance. I think they make ISA versions too. --- David C.
