Has anyone experienced any problems with Adaptec 1742 and NetBSD?

I am using it but can only run the aha (1542) driver. As soon as I switch
to a kernel with 1742 support I will get different kinds of read and write
errors (mungled I-nodes, SCSI-command abborted).

Obviously ahb runs on many machines (e.g. sun-lamp) without this problems.

Is my controller broken? Or the firmware (v1.40)?
