I have a Maxtor 1240S and an Archive 2525S hooked up to my Adaptec 1542C. The Maxtor works great, NetBSD installed off of the floppies great, but I'm having trouble using the Archive. Whenever I try to tar anything off the tape I get st0: illegal request st0: mode sense failed st0: illegal request tar: read error on /dev/rst0: invalid argument. I've swapped in an Archive 2150S and it works ok. Anybody have any clues? I've Tested the drive on a sun, and it works, so i don't think it is a defective drive.
