This is a follow up to my question last week reguarding my PS/2 mouse
not working on a Gateway 4Dx-33 under netBSD 0.8 running XFree86 v1.3.

Well, I got it working... Kinda. The mouse will only work when something
is going on with the machine (i.e. when I hold down the shift key or any
other key for that matter or if a program is running in the active window.)
I have no CLUE why it does this, so if I run something as simple as "xeyes"
and iconify it, I have full control over the mouse while it's in the window
manager.

I needed to find out exactly what IRQ and port the PS/2 mouse runs on, so
I called the Gateway "Technical Support" 800# number for info... Hah!
The dumb, ignorant bitch at the Gateway Tech support number (I hate to use
those words, but well - they're all true) told me that the mouse was on IRQ3
on Com2 at the address 2f8 or something. I tried in vane to explain to her
that she was wrong, but nada. So, thanks to some Email from Alan Trombla at
the Univ. of Tokyo, I got the address 0x300 and set the IRQ to 12. And I'm
happy for now, but would still like to know why my mouse will only move
when xeyes is up! Any suggestions???
