Austin State University Lines: 27 To anyone who can help me, I am having the problem of my life. Since I have been using Windows 3.1 I am getting a very annoying error message that reads "General Protection Fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0002:14A9." The error occurs randomnly, but it happens at the same place everytime. I have tried everything I know of, but nothing seems to work. I tried switching the Interrupts and DMA's on my SoundBlaster card, removed my ancient Zoom modem, switching around my SIMM chips in a different order, played around with HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE, but no luck at all. I was advised, though, to use Dr. Watson while running Windows and it gave me some information what my be going on, but I don't understand one word it means. If it's any help it said something like "stack frame 0 is KRNL386.EXE" and goes on to screw up about another 10 or so stack frames. Maybe that certain address in my memory is corrupted or maybe something is keeping Windows from accessing it. This last week I spent $45 to see if the local computer shop could figure it out, but I knew they wouldn't be able to, and they didn't. Right now I'm looking for prices of a new 486 motherboard because I BELIEVE that this problems is irreparable, but I want to do everything in my power to see if I can fix the problem. If you can help me or know anyone who can offer advice please let me know because I am seriously DESPERATE!!!! Thanks for your time, Fred Huston Jr. email: Z_HUSTONFN@CCSVAX.SFASU.EDU
