I'm new at setting up UNIX (BSD) and I have been at it for just a few days now. I need to set up the system so that the serial port modem (14,400 baud) can be used for dialin purpose. Now I have tried to research and read books. From them I tried to change the /etc/ttys file and add an entry like this: tty00 "/etc/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown on or tty00 "/etc/libexec/getty std.9600" vt100 on or tty00 "/etc/libexec/getty std.9600" dialup on None of them works. For one thing, when I boot up my modem's Terminal_Ready light didn't show up.. that usually means when someone calls the modem won't even pick up the phone. Do I need to do something like echo "AT M1 E0" > /dev/tty00 or similar for UNIX? I'm really stuck. Please help!! -- ___________________________________________________________________________ Yuan-chi (Bill) Chiu. masc0004@ucssun1.sdsu.edu.
