Message-ID: <jnpotts.711357703@vincent1.iastate.edu> Date: 17 Jul 92 07:21:43 GMT Article-I.D.: vincent1.jnpotts.711357703 References: <1992Jul17.025438.7340@usenet.ins.cwru.edu> Sender: news@news.iastate.edu (USENET News System) Organization: Iowa State University, Ames IA Lines: 23 I have apparently had the same problem booting 386BSD. Here's what happens when I try: It gives the opening banner. It lists all of the devices that it finds. When it lists wd0, it beeps. When it says that it's transferring root to fd0a, it hangs. HOWEVER, if I change my CMOS settings so that they say that I have no hard drive, and I reboot my computer TWICE, the disk will boot. And it still recognizes wd0. Unfortunately, install bombs after a few seconds. If someone can help rectify this situation, I would GREATLY appreciate it! Oh, and I must say that I was IMPRESSED by the system that loaded off of the floppy, even if I couldn't run install! Thanks for any help!! -- _____________________________________________________________________ James N. Potts | "To err is human.
