Message-ID: <1993Aug23.201658.16277@cc.umontreal.ca> From: surprenc@ceres (Surprenant Colin) Date: Mon, 23 Aug 1993 20:16:58 GMT Sender: news@cc.umontreal.ca (Administration de Cnews) Organization: Universite de Montreal X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL1] Lines: 28 Hi, This is a weird one. On my machine, 486/33 EISA I used to run NetBSD-0.8 with my on-board video controller based on a WD90C31. Everything worked well, in text mode and with XFree86 1.3. Now I bought a ATI GUP EISA, I disabled my onboard video and tried to boot NetBSD. Everything looks fine until I log in (on the console, no XFree here) I get this message: syslogd: input/output on /dev/console. I realized that inetd and sometimes crond are coredumping. I tried every possible configuration of my GUP with no luck. I installed codrv, ans it still crashes the same way. Anybody have a hint of what my cause that? Should I spend the time diging in or should I wait the next release which may solved this [know?] problem? thanks, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Colin Surprenant | ROT inc. galaad@rot.qc.ca | Recherche Operationelle en Telecommunication Phone: 514-849-0948 | Montreal, Quebec FAX: 514-849-6775 | IP: 192.77.49.131 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
