It is not an issue of the BNR/2 crypt. No DES code may be exported from the
US no matter what copyright is on it. Even more silly, if I inadvertently put
a totally unencumbered version of DES crypt on a US site I can't even get it
back (I'm in the UK)! The only way around this is to use a non-DES version of
crypt for exportation.

A US exportable version of FreeBSD will be released.
