I have compile pcnfsd for 386bsd (sources from seagull.rtd.com) and have
also used the (virtually identical) sources from BSDi recompiled on
386bsd. I am trying to use ftp Inc.'s idmnt program from a PC.
According to the ftp tech. desk, I am doing everything right in terms
of PC setup and Unix (to their knowledge) setup. On the Unix side, I
have a directory specified in /etc/exports, pcnfsd is in /etc/rpc as
150001, I am running portmap, pcnfsd (runs OK), mountd, and nfsd (nfs
works, of course).

fpt's AUTH command works on the PC:

Sending RPC request to host mhaac's portmapper:
Send of RPC portmap request packet successful!

Sending RPC pcnfsd request packet to host mhaac
    Authorization succeeded!

The pcnfsd on mhaac states that:
User name dsoper on host mhaac:
    User ID number (uid): 10241
    Group ID number (gid): 10000

Please write these numbers down and verify them in
/etc/passwd or wherever your system keeps this info.

However, when I try to mount the directory:

idmnt public mhaac /vol/dsoper e: pcnfs dsoper

It asks me for the password. I enter it and get:

    ERROR: PRC Authentication error
File system "public" has NOT been mounted
    File system NOT mounted

Same results if I use 'idmnt -a' with parameters specified in PCTCP.INI.

Has anybody successfully run pcnfs with any PC package? If so, HELP!!!
