I was stuck for a week not being able to run either 386bsd or DOS -- when I had *been* running DOS o.k.! -- because I set the "memory timing" to "slow", and thereby caused my Adaptec controller to cause grievous disk bit rot [due to underruns]. (I thought I was being "helpful" to 386bsd by "dumbing down" the configuration. Hah!) -Rob ----- Rob Warnock, MS-9U/510 rpw3@sgi.com Silicon Graphics, Inc. (415)390-1673 2011 N.
