It was shutdown abnormally twice (at different times) ands survived but the third time (i didn't do it :-() it came with this message pc0.. com1.. com2.. wd0.. wd1.. fd0.. (all ok till now) panic: init died The operating system is saving a copy of RAM memory to device 1, offset 0 [hit any key to abort] : [amount left to save (MB)] 4 3 2 1 .... and then goes back to the pboot screen (boot manager). I have old TinyBSD and fixit floppies (0.2.1, of course) with which I can boot but am unable to mount (well, at least access) the wd0a ( bad file descriptor) disk 1: WD 120 MB 0-365Cyl for dos and rest 366-870 for bsd (a, b, c) disk 2: WD 340MB 0-1008 for bsd (a, b, c, h, g). any advice or help ? -- Pragnesh Sampat psampat@astro.ocis.temple.edu 215 204 6388
