Date: 30 Aug 1993 06:21:49 -0500 Organization: The University of Texas - Austin Lines: 24 Message-ID: <25snsd$dh7@sylvester.cc.utexas.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: sylvester.cc.utexas.edu I've read the FAQ's and I haven't seen mention of whether 0.2.4 is going to officialize. I've been waiting... also, my slip isn't using HW Flow control (RTS/CTS) properly, so so sending data out through ftp will shut off the modem (i.e. hang it up) and make the kernel unahappy. Quick fixes?? I really need ftp-ability. Shouldn't it be possible to use stty to do this in my script? -Why doesn't "stty crtscts > /dev/null" work?- This is in a rather large Perl script I wrote... Yes the output descriptor is the modem. Any trick I need to do with stty? Can't I do this without a slattach that supports hw flow control directly? Lastly, has anyone addressed the issue of HP Laserjet II's not being recognized while attached (during bootup)? THe only solution I have found is to use a printer switch. I am not the only person with this problem. Seems pk0.2.3 changed something in the lptprobe() that broke it. TNX. PS What is a good book to read about if I want to understand the kernel?
