Rand) Newsgroups: comp.os.386bsd.questions Subject: Problem installing NetBSD-0.9 Date: 3 Sep 1993 21:41:53 -0500 Organization: University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND Lines: 28 Distribution: world Message-ID: <RAND.93Sep3214151@agassiz.cas.und.NoDak.Edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: agassiz.cas.und.nodak.edu Summary: Get trap type 19 & wdc0: extra interrupt I bit the bullet and tried to install NetBSD 0.9 this evening on my extra 200 Mbyte disk. The first time through (there have been many ;-) everything seemd to be going just fine. I got to the point where I was starting to extract the OS from a NFS mount. I had been getting "wdc0: extra interrupt" messages every once in a while, but I was just ignoring them. Then the power dies. I knew it was going too easily. So, when the system comes up I try to clean up the file systems with fsck but that doesn't seem to be working, so I figure I'll restart from scratch. Ya, right. Ok, so I go ahead and boot off the kernel disk again and try to reinstall everything. But immediatly after the prompt asking if I really want to write to the disk (the point of no return) the system panics. It panics BEFORE I respond, the panic message is immediatly after the question. Here is about what it says: trape type 10 code 0 eip fe000ff3 cs 8 There is more, but I've already done this 4 times to get that much of the message because the system automatically reboots. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! -- Douglas K.
