I had to setup a few machines with BSDI that different hard drives, ...etc. It only took me 4 hours to do the full installation from a remote CD. Compared to other things that I have dealt with this is pretty nice. They also said that BSDI had THE BEST support phone line (and most knowledgable people) they had experienced and they were impressed that BSDI was willing to put the patch (well, actually a new disk image) on their FTP server. I really like their support email and the bsdi-users list. They were also pretty blunt about BSDI being "Unix for Unix users". i.e. there aren't any "add user" shell scripts, BSDI is for people that KNOW unix and aren't afraid of editing /etc/passwd by hand. YES! That's the way it should be. :) Marc E. Fiuczynski -- /Marc... mef@cs.washington.edu
