In a networked environment installing the distribution without sources should not be too bad because hopefully you will be updating the binaries from a single source. If not just drop in the entire distribution in a 1/2 hour. To install XFree86 just add another 15 minutes and you are up and running. If you have fast scsi controller and scsi disk drives in a 486DX50 or faster cpu your installation will be much quicker. The folks over at sun-lamp are claiming 1.4MB/sec disk transfer and we know that David Greeman's new ethernet driver can operate nearly at ethernet speed. It would not surprise me to hear someone installing the entire distribution including XFree86 under 20 minutes.
