I have used Pete Chown's shared libs (based on Joerg Lohse's) - everything works fine, and as I write I am busy installing shared libs on my FreeBSD system (the old 386bsd shared libs work on FreeBSD, only all of the programs which use the password db are now hosed). You can get the shared libs kit that I put together (based on 386bsd0.1+pk0.2.4) on braae.ru.ac.za:/pub/386bsd/X-shlibs - please read the README and ERRATA files. If there is interest, I will make the FreeBSD port of Pete Chown's shlibs kit available for ftp.
