For better or worse some of our binaries would not even get off the ground under NetBSD-0.9 which basically means that in certain instances, we may have to have two sets of binaries and I was wondering if we were going to have THREE sets of binaries. The third one of course for FreeBSD. My understanding for both FreeBSD and NetBSD-0.9 that db files conform to the new db files format which of course are incompatible with the old version. So in the case of XS3, if someone releases a new rgb.db under the latest *BSD it will not work with a binary generated under 386bsd-0.1 with the old db library functions. David Greeman is running XS3 and I am happy that is working so far with him. I know that he compiled the server on his system so at least XS3 can be compiled under FreeBSD. Terry Lee <terry@uivlsi.csl.uiuc.edu> inform me that XS3 as compiled under 386bsd works with FreeBSD as long as he uses an old rgb database. What do I think? That XS3 may have to have THREE sets of binaries one for 386bsd, NetBSD-0.9, and FreeBSD. Last and very simple question: Was XS3 included in your CDROM distribution?
