You will notice that the FreeBSD CD-ROM (and the ftp site as well whenever we get some time :-( ) has many ported applications for FreeBSD ready to install, and Jordan Hubbard has written a nice package installation suite that will make install/de-installing pre-compiled or source packages very easy to do. It's a matter of time and where you place your importance. One group of folks can't do everything, operating system hacking, application porting, installation tools, support, question answering, etc. w/out any financial backing and expect to be sane in the future. (No, I'm *NOT* asking for $$, just letting folks know that any of the organized groups welcome folks willing to do any of the above tasks for free, since we have lots of others things we could be doing as well) Nate -- nate@bsd.coe.montana.edu | In the middle of it ........ again. nate@cs.montana.edu | Running/supporting one of many freely available work #: (406) 994-4836 | Operating Systems for [34]86 machines. home #: (406) 586-0579 | (based on Net/2, name changes all the time :-)
