He will then go on to cover Linux a very powerful unix clone developed by a Finnish college student. David Maynard will discuss the various free versions of BSD that are now available. There will be several machines of varying capabilities so you can test out and judge the software for yourself. If you are not familiar with Linux or BSD, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by these 32 bit, multi-user, multi-tasking operating systems that can include TCP/IP networking, and the X-Windows graphical user interface.
