I have a 386DX-33 with >X running, and 8 megs. I get this too. It never happened under 386bsd but can sometimes occur several times an hour under NetBSD (or not occur in a whole evening). When I enquired, Theo Deraadt told me it was to do with the new interrupt system and they don't (didn't) know how to fix it yet. If anyone has a temporary patch I'd be interested.
