I have XFree86 running (the binary kit from agate.berkeley.edu), it
works fine with all suplied binaries.

But now I'm trying to compile additional stuff from the generic
X11R5 source tree (xdvi, xfishtank etc) and none of it works. They
all complain about not being able to open the display.

echo $DISPLAY gives :0.0

I must be missing something very obvius, don't I?
