Subject: 3com 3c503 thicknet setting HELP!!!
Lines: 30

I want to use the external tranceiver of a 3c503 on netbsd.
the install docs say: "ifconfig ed1 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx llc0"
the system responds: "llc0: bad value."
Please help me with this one guys!

In addition, this is another problem:
Having finally gotten the initial boot disks on netbsd installed on
a 40 meg mfm drive. I wish to mount and use another 80 meg (1024cyln)
mfm drive as well under the /usr partition.
  1. This 80 meg drive apparently already has partitions from previous
netbsd install attempts that failed (due to the fact the bad144 is
     totally broken.)
  2. After formating the drive, the partition info is still there.
  3. How do I blow away all partition information on the 80meg drive
and mount it under the /usr directory and map out the bad
     sectors.
  4. Trying to edit disklabel doesnt work since VI was not included
     in the distribution disks.
  5. Bad144 wd1 bombs out because of harddrive i/o error writing fsbn
at duh duh duh.... I am supposed to do this manualy, so I have heard
and map out this bad cyliders.
     a) THEY HAVE ALREAY BEEN MAPPED OUT by my low level diagnostics
        software for the drive.
     b) why cant this thing figure it out?
  6. WHY THE %^#$ am I continuously getting wd0 extra interrupts!!!!

  Thank you for your time.
