Message-ID: <CDG59x.5Lo@filetek.com> Followup-To: comp.os.386bsd.questions Keywords: QIC-02 Sender: news@filetek.com Organization: FileTek, Inc., Rockville, Maryland, U.S.A. Date: Thu, 16 Sep 1993 12:27:32 GMT Lines: 16 I just blew my budget buying a 486 PC to run NetBSD so I can't afford to get into SCSI yet, although I know that's the way to go eventually. In the recent FAQ on *BSD-compatible tape drives I saw the Cypher ST-150F which has a QIC-02 interface whose cost (including interface) is only US$300. Can anyone tell me (a) what is QIC-O2, (b) what this drive's performance is like with NetBSD, and (c) is this drive worth getting? Getting SCSI is probably a year away for me and in the meantime I have a 350Mb NetBSD partition that I can't backup (except by floppies). I'd also be interested to hear if it works with DOS because I also have an 80Mb DOS partition (no flames, please :) that could stand backing up. Thanks. -- Jan Morales Internet: jan@filetek.com FileTek, Inc. UUCP: uunet!fltk!jan Rockville, Maryland, U.S.A.
