Is it correct that mkfifo is not supported on FreeBSD ?

When I type 'mkfifo foo' I get a message which says:

mkfifo: foo: Operation not supported

I tried to recompile the kernel with option FIFO, but got a lot
of undeclared fifo_* in kern/fifo_vnops.c file.

Any suggestion to get around ?

Thanks.
