Hi everybody,
using 386BSD and XFree86 for several months without having any problems,
this status changed radically by installing a ne2000-compatible ethernet
card on my system.
The symptom is garbage on the screen immediately after switching on the
computer. Seems like IRQ and/or io-adress problems, but if I try a different
VGA-Card - which will not support XFree86 of course :-( - with the same
jumper settings on the ethernet-card, the systems comes up normally.
So I've been told to disable IRQ2 on my ET4000, but there is no jumper to
realize this - no documented jumper of course :-/ .
Did anybody had the same or similar problems, and if the answer should be
yes, how did you resolve this porblem?!
A guy who has a network card, but may not use it!
Please answer via E-mail, for I do not read the news daily.
