Please help me!

I am trying to install Net-BSD on my system, and I keep having "sd0
timeout" and some "ahb0 device timeout" errors.

This is very frustrating, as I have not gotten it completely installed
yet (though I have come close three times)!.

This seems to be an intermittent problem, because it doesn't always show
up at the same time (sometimes I get the floppy installs finished, sometimes
not).

I would like to get in touch with somebody who has experience with the
Adaptec 1742a, just to see if my settings are right.

I'd also be grateful for any other suggestions.

I'd also like to know the real geometry of the Maxtor 7345sr drive (I
have a couple of contradictory sources, and I'd like to hear from anybody
who is currently using the drive).

Things I've done so far include:

1. Remove the terminator from my first scsi drive (the people I bought
it from left both in there, and it worked perfectly with DOS and
   Windows).

2. Got a new SCSI cable. Made up in the local computer shop. This was
   at Adaptec's suggestion.

3. Installed several times with different geometries.

4. Effectively removed each disk from consideration: the problem occurs
no matter which disk was removed.

The system:
Zenon EISA/VLB system
50 MHz DX2
8 meg RAM
Video Board with Cirrus Logic chipset
2 Maxtor 7345sr scsi disks

This system seemed to work fine under DOS, but not under Net-BSD. I am
at my wit's end (not that I had far to go in the first place), and need
all the help I can get.

Thanks in advance.
