I downloaded the installation disks (just to try it out), but it dies when asking if I want to proceed with the installation (after mounting the filesystem.fs floppy). NetBSD does work on the machine, but since it is going to be running slip and doesn't have a 16550 card I wanted to use the SIO drivers. How come nobody ever sends us mail when they have these problems? We have "SEND MAIL TO FREEBSD-QUESTIONS@FREEFALL.CDROM.COM" plastered all over the release notes, yet I see 3-4 messages a day at least from people asking about some aspect of FreeBSD they've just installed, or tried to install, and it's just durned annoying that they didn't at least try and send us mail first! C'mon folks, we're offering you free and fast help here, take us up on it! Those that do will attest that we DO try and help them out. We don't always have all the answers, but we at least give it our best shot! In any case, "it dies when asking ..." is somewhat ambiguous, I'm afraid! Dies in what way? Could you be more specific? Thanks! Jordan (who's sorry to yell but gets a little fed up with people absolutely refusing to RTFM (or at least FTFM) all the time!) -- (Jordan K.
