I know that, also - don't be so hasty (erm, no pun intended :) in assuming that I'm running XFree86 1.3. 1.9E works great with my S3 card, and with no "memory leaks" that I've been able to see. >I doubt it in fact I am having a "blast" over here with the kernel. You missed my point entirely. I wasn't implying that it was unreliable. I can see you missed about 6 weeks worth of very heated discussion in the Linux camp regarding GPL'd code in the kernel, or have never read the GPL, so I'll just save everyone the bother of even trying to explain what I meant - it's too involved! >>I assume they were compiled to use ZMAGIC and not QMAGIC? I made an observation: If you compile QMAGIC execs, then they'll only run on NetBSD. Full stop. What's political about that? It's important to make that clear, since there are still a lot of 386BSD (and an increasing number of FreeBSD) systems out there. >If anyone ones to get the sources for the soundblaster driver, >I already stated the ftp sites where is available , I can >also move the bloody SB driver to sunvis.. but I thought that it As long as the README in the directory states where to get everything, I don't believe you're in violation of the GPL. I was just trying to point out a simple fact here, Amancio - no need to get steamed! Go read the GPL again then yell at Stallman, not me. >As for the binaries compiled under NetBSD-0.8, there is only one >format available and it is the same as for 386bsd-0.1. Someone care to write us a non-GPL'd version? JOrdan >
