Message-ID: <1993Sep28.151005.4100@bnr.ca> Sender: ingmarsl@bcarh136 (Ingmar Slomic) Nntp-Posting-Host: bcarh136 Organization: Bell-Northern Research Date: Tue, 28 Sep 1993 15:10:05 GMT Lines: 25 Hey all, I just installed FreeBSD v1.0 and Xfree v1.3 on my machine. The installation was done off a taped archive of the system a buddy of mine has and I didn't actually have to compile the thing. However the pty=4 restriction is ridiculous, especially when working on a virtual desktop. I tried recompiling the kernel, and everything seems to go fine EXCEPT that when I try to boot off it it complains that it is too large (>650k) and then it proceeds to use the .old version. As far as I can tell the new kernel is larger by about 100 bytes and it is still only about 550kbytes! SO, my question is: Have I provided enough info for some kind soul out there to steer me in the right direction? If so then please reply soon :) Oh yeah - since I have your attention, is it possible for me to change the way Window List works so as to not display the Geometry for each window? Thanks for you help... Ingmar
