I have a 486-33 VLB machine with a tekram DC-680 VLB IDE controller. This controller has two IDE busses and takes two drives on each buss and remapes them to one drive. I have been running OS/2, Dos and Linux on this disk for a while. I wanted to move to NetBSD since linux is a bit unstable for me. When I ran the install disks they would fail when they got to the disklabel with a "Device not configured" error. I went and got the New FreeBSD install disks to use them instead. They worked great, and the disks were al set up and waited for a kernel, but when I booted up the NetBSD kernel again, it still gave me the Device not configured error. So I installed all of FreeBSD and then tried again. Still the NetBSD kernel refuses to mount my disk with Device not configured errors. I want NetBSD! FreeBSD is ok, but I wan NetBSD. Can anyone out there shed any light on my situation? Thanks in advance for any help. - Tim Schlie <tpschlie@icaen.uiowa.edu> <tps1@ra.msstate.edu> -- Timothy P.
