I didn't take a look at it, yet. If it's not GPL'd it might be worth looking. I will try to do it this weekend, anyway. If nobody else has already done it, that is. I will take a look at the license in the driver, first. If it is GPL'd it might be worthwhile to reserve a major number for this driver in one of the next releases, so that everybody who is feeling to use this driver can insert it by himself. This won't violate the GPL nor the policy of *BSD, right ? Or am I totally wrong about this matter ? On the other hand, even, if the license is OK for *BSD, I don't know whether it is easy to port the driver from Linux to *BSD. If I remember correctly there are some files in a 386BSD subdirectory of the version of the Linux driver I have. Perhaps they are all empty ? I don't know, yet. I will try and get the latest version of this Linux driver, soon. Norbert. P.S. I have a GUS board which should be much better for sound in multi-tasking OS's than the simpler versions of the SB (less load for the CPU). And, of course, better sound (no sound-board war here, please !). -- Norbert Bladt, Ascom Autelca AG, Worbstr. 201, CH-3073 Guemligen, Switzerland Phone: +41 31 999 65 52 FAX: +41 31 999 65 44 Mail: nbladt@autelca.ascom.ch UUCP: ..!uunet!mcsun!chsun!hslrswi!aut!nbladt
