Hi!

I tried installing FreeBSD 1.0-GAMMA last night. I ran into the following
problems and would appreciate any help. (If these are FAQs, please point
me to the FAQ... I have looked).

 1. /bin/cat keeps disappearing. At first I thought it was a cruel
joke. After each extract, /bin/cat would disappear. I ended up
copying it off the cpio floppy and extracting the savesets
manually. What's the deal? Am I doing something wrong?

 2. I can't get the serial ports to work. I MAKEDEV'd sio01 and sio02
and tried to use tip and cu. They will connect and then give me
Input/Output errors and die. Am I doing something wrong?
I fiddled with /etc/remote and added entries for sio01 and sio02.

Thanks!

BTW: The pkg_install stuff is *really* useful. I had a useful system
(minus serial ports thus SLIP connection to the net) in under 1 hour.
