Message-ID: <3OCT93.08501668@tifrvax.tifr.res.in> Sender: news@dxcern.cern.ch (USENET News System) Organization: MIT PLASMA FUSION CENTER Date: Sun, 3 Oct 1993 08:50:16 GMT Lines: 31 I have just installed NetBSD-0.9 on my PC 486, so im rather new to this. I have had a few problems.. Mainly: I have TWO seagate st1239a disks (255MB) on my machine. The installation FINDS both disks (wd0 and wd1), and is installed on wd0. When i try to mount wd1 i do: disklabel -w /dev/rwd1a ** where i have tried, in place of **, variously SE506 and an entry i have created in the disktab and i get a response.. .....(some stuff here).. no label on /dev/rwd1a /dev/rwd1a Invalid Argument !! The second line is strange. I have done everything the manpage say about disklabel. Finally i tried newfs /dev/rwd1a and i get /dev/rwd1a Invalid Argument I wished to format the disk: the manpage for newfs mentions format(8), but there is neither a man entry for format(8) nor the command itself anywhere. ?? Also, if i wish to put the machine on YP, is there any limitation on the number of filesystem i can mount? Thanks bhiksha bhiksha@tifrvax.tifr.res.in bhiksha@tifrvax.bitnet
