Hi Chaps,

To all of you who emailed and replied in the news here thanks very much
for you help.

Here is the solution for others with the same problem.

1. Add to your kernal the command "options GATEWAY  #slIP option"
2. Run config
3. Run make
4. Install new kernal
5. In your /etc/rc.local include the command arp -s {remote IP address}
   {your ETHERNET address} pub
6. reboot the machine and it works

Hmmm if only this part was in the BSD_FAQ in the slIP option (grin)
