Here's another gee I can't get it to work question for yall.
Ok first a little background.
MCCI SuperEISA 486DX50
BusLogic 747S FAST SCSI-II
Maxtor MXT1240S 1.18G HD
Wangtek 5525ES QIC
Currently running dos 6.0
OS I am attempting to install FreeBSD-1.0 EPSILON
Now the question I have tried every combination of settings I can think
of and nothing works. No matter what the install program says:
sd0d: Time out
sd0d: attempting to abort
sd0d: command aborted
This happens in all phases including the disklabel. If I exit to the
shell and attempt to do any of this by hand it insists device not
configured. Now all these devices show up fine on boot (the maxtor has
a wierd label insisting on non-sensical parameters) but it warns me the
drive is not labeled (no duh you won't do it for me).
So is this a problem with the 50MHz clock? Is there a nop loop expiring
to soon or am I just SOL.
Thanks
-Chris
BTW geometry trans is comming from the card but everybody but FreeBSD
seems happy with it. Anyway if geometry is the problem it would at
least be able to trash the drive- as it is it can't even access it.
