I get the message: /etc/spwd.db : inappropriate file type ..... I know the db format has changed. And I recompiled bash and tcsh to try them, but I still get these messages. I also use the secure09 package, so I do have crypt installed. What could I be doing wrong, should I link with -lcrypt or perhaps some other library???? 2. When I use tcsh 6.04 and configure it for bsd 4.4, everything appears go right, but when I logout, the system hangs on login, i.e. my screen remains blank after I've logged out, instead of returning with the "NetBSD 0.9... login:" message. I tried hanging up init, but the only thing I can do is reboot my system from a remote terminal 3. When I change the line for tty00 (to which my modem is connected) to put a getty on it, I can call it, but after a few moments I get garbage on my screen and can't do anything but hang up. When I call back it either does not answer the phone (the modem picks up the phone, but immediately after that the connection is cut off), or I still get garbage. Any help would be appreciated, since these are rather annoying problems. Marc van Kempen. (wmbfmk@urc.tue.nl)
